Club

A Brief History

Ponteland Community High School Rowing Club was founded in 1990 by Chemistry teacher Dr Hoare. Today, it has members ranging from Junior 13 to Junior 18. The club offers any student or adult living in the community of Ponteland the opportunity to try rowing.
We are based in Newburn on the River Tyne and share our facilities with Tyne RC. The club enjoys success at many rowing competitions, both rowing and national throughout out the year. Our current wins record is 69, which was gained in 1999. Our most notable achievement to date is having 3 crews getting to the final of the National Championships in 1999.
